It’s many years ago, that I fell in love with Africa.
In the spring of 1994 I travelled to Ghana because I – a skilled jewellery and industrial designer – wanted to learn more about the lost wax, this ancient casting technique still applied in West Africa.
But how life goes, in search of the lost wax, I found a new love.
The colourfull fabrics, the fancy glass beads, funny toys, ornamented plates and caskets for the use in every day life. And naturally, I was attracted by the people who create these things.
This was the big bang of Afrod’Or.
I travelled to Africa many times since and built up my very own network of local manufacturers, craftsmen and designers in Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, in the hinterland of Ghana, Burkina Faso, Mali...
Afrod’Or is made in Africa without compromise.
Let yourself get seduced by Africa as Africa was seducing me many years ago.
